For the past few years, every holiday has been a bit hard for me knowing that my family will not be together as we had been for seventeen years before my parents decided to go their separates ways. Every christmas eve, every halloween, every 4th of july, and everything in between breaks my heart knowing i can’t have both my parents in the same room. Divorce is especially harder when kids are not kids anymore. When they are asked to choose between both parents and who they want to live with. I will never forget that last dinner we had as a family because in the end, its the relationship that we once had that keeps me going. Now all there is to do, is fight for that relationship i had with my dad because not having him in my life as often as i did is definitely making me miss a part of who i was. But until the love he has for me overthrows his ignorance and the anger for what happened nothing will ever improve. Happy fathers day dad.
